You Are Not Alone

And the Lord, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed. – Deuteronomy 31:8

The Lord Jesus tells us that in this world we will have trouble you can count on it. For those of us who have been around awhile we know this to be all too true.  It comes in many forms, usually comes when we least expect it, or sometimes you can see it coming a mile away.  But did you know that before the world was made, and you were formed in the womb, God made provision to take care of you? There are over 137 scripture verses that give us the promise of His providence.  God foresaw that our lives would be filled with all manner of heartache and pain.  And like any good father He cares for and looks after His own.

In our scripture verse the Lord tells us that, “he doth goeth before thee”.  This means that He knows all about your future.  He knows all about the road ahead that is our lives.  He knows about every sharp turn, blind curve, bump, and obstacle in our path.  God has not forgotten you.  He sees every tear, he hears every sigh, and He has promised to never to leave nor forsake you.

In the midst of your sorrow and pain, call on Him.  He has the answers that you seek as well as the solution to all of your problems.  Whether it’s a job you need, your health is failing you, your finances are a mess, or maybe you have a prodigal wife, husband, son or daughter that you desperately want to come home.  Cry out to Him and trust every promise He has made to you for He is faithful, and His word will not come back to Him void.  Praise God from whom all blessings flow!

REFUSE NOT TO TRUST HIM!  The enemy would like nothing better than to steal your faith in order to cause you to doubt God.  No matter what you feel trust Him.  It may not seem like it now, but everything that you are going through WILL work out for your good!  The word of God says so in Romans 8:28.  I have been through some trying times, and God has seen me through them all.  I have the privilege of sharing this blog with you because of what He has done for me, and to remind you that God is real and He loves us more than we could imagine.

Heavenly Father,

I pray for all of my brothers and sisters that are seeking you today.  Your word says that you open your hand and fulfill the desires of every living thing. For this we praise and thank you.  There are so many that are hurting and in need.  I know that you are more than willing to give us every good thing according to your will.  All we have to do is ask and trust you.  I thank you and give you glory and honor in the name of Christ our Lord amen.

The Blood That Was Shed

But He was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities. – Isaiah 53:5

I saw the movie The Passion of the Christ for the first time over the Easter holiday.  Although it has been out for several years I would not watch it because I could not bear to see an adaptation of what our Lord might have went through to give us the gift of salvation.  I knew I would be emotional, but I was not prepared for what I for what I was about to see.  I was told the movie was very graphic, and it is, even more than I imagined.  I was completely horrified at the at the depiction of the sheer brutality He suffered at the hands of the Roman soldiers.  The sick pleasure these men derived from torturing Jesus was twisted, perverse, and demonic.  Some of the soldiers laughed hysterically as they mocked, beat and degraded Him.  It never entered my mind the kind of oppressive, relentless punishment He  endured so that we might be saved from death and hell. The beating he received was of the highest degree called the vereberatio.  It was  commonly associated with those about to be crucified, and used as a form of severe punishment.  Jesus received this beating as a result of the last effort of Pontius Pilate to spare Him from the crucifixion.  I saw His precious blood being splattered on the ground, collecting in pools as the soldiers took turns giving Him lash after lash with their flagrum whips especially made for physical torture.

These whips were made from leather lashes and had sharp metal points. They were particularly gruesome compared to the others commonly used by the Roman army.  There was the ferula made from a leather strap, and the scutica a whip constructed of parchment throngs.  The flagrum was used to inflict intense suffering but not to kill.   The soldiers trampled on his blood as they carried out their orders unaware that it was being shed to cover the sins of all mankind.  Though I found it difficult I watched as He was whipped, mocked, spit upon, cursed, and struck about His head and body, and yet He didn’t utter a word.  He never lashed out at those who were throwing stones laughing and taunting Him.  Even so He never even gave so much as a hard look toward the ones who were there to watch Him suffer and die.  The prophecy of Isaiah 53:7 being fulfilled, “He was oppressed and afflicted, yet he did not open his mouth; he was led like a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is silent, so he did not open his mouth”.

My eyes welled up with tears as I watched an innocent man be so horribly mistreated and abused.  His body wracked with unimaginable pain, the humiliation of being treated worse than an animal.  I believe that most of us would run to the aid of any animal that was being tortured in such a manner.  We would recoil in astonishment and horror at the sadistic inhumane treatment of a helpless creature.  We would do whatever we could to stop it, and demand the perpetrator be punished.  While many wept and were appalled by the way Jesus was being treated no one dared to speak out against it.  They knew it could easily be them bearing the brunt of the soldiers barbarous acts.  Truly this was God in the flesh for no mere man could have endured this and not died long ago from the severity of his injuries.   I can only imagine Almighty God watching this from heaven.  His heart surely breaking along with the anger and indignation He must have felt as mortal men He created from the dust of the earth, tormented, blasphemed, and reviled His only Son as He bore the burden, and took the punishment for sins He never committed and paying for debts He did not owe.

I can envision the angels of God standing at the ready to destroy every living thing, and even the earth itself for the unjust savagery being inflicted upon Jesus.  All He had to do was say the word. With armies of countless mighty angels at his disposal ready to do battle on His behalf they were not allowed to intervene.  In the midst of this hell spawned maltreatment His great love for you and me is what saved all of us from complete and total annihilation at the hands of a righteous God.  Jesus knew that this was the price that must be paid in order to save men from their sins, to offer us salvation from the wrath of a holy God who could not look upon sin without destroying it and the sinner.  He knew the hurt, sorrow, and anguish His father was feeling.  I believe this is one of the reasons Jesus said, “Father forgive them for they know not what they do”. Is it possible that this plea from the Master was what kept His Father, and legions of holy angels from destroying all of mankind that very day?

Jesus went through this for you and me.  If you haven’t turned your life over to Him won’t you do it now?  The end of this age is approaching rapidly.  Accept the gift of salvation while there is still time.  It is not God’s will that any should perish.  I know of no one else who would do what Jesus did for us.  Do you?

Father in heaven I pray that someone reading this post today will realize that the world as we know it is coming to an end.  I ask that you touch their hearts and show them that there is a heaven to gain and a hell to shun.  I ask in the name of Jesus that you take the spiritual blinders off their eyes, soften hardened hearts, and open deaf ears to the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, and accept His free gift of salvation now.  Thank you Lord for those that have accepted your invitation and have become adopted into the family of God.  I rejoice along with the angels!

If you have just received Jesus as Lord and Savior please let me know by saying so in the prayer request section of this blog.  I want to rejoice with you, and be of help any way I can.

The War Against The Saints

And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ”.

Revelation 12:17

Did you know that there is a war going on that some Christians, and most of the world knows nothing about?  This war is being fought in the spiritual realm now.  And guess what you are in it whether you want to be or not.  The battle is for your very soul.  It’s now a matter of whose side you’re on.  This passage of scripture answered a lot of questions for me.  The one thing I often wondered about was why do God’s people seem to suffer so much compared to the world?  The dragon mentioned here is satan.  In the earlier verses he tries to eat the child she was about to give birth to, but God snatched Him away to heaven.  Then he went after the woman in a final attempt to kill her.   He opened his mouth and a great flood of water came out that was meant to overtake the woman and carry her away.  But the earth opened up to help her, and swallowed the water.  The word then says that the dragon became extremely angry.  Having been unable to get the child or the woman he then turned his attention toward those who keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.  In other words the saints of God.

The enemy has been waging war against God’s people for a very long time.  Did you notice that he is going after those that keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus?  It’s clear he’s not going after lukewarm Christians.  He has set his sights on those who are obeying God, and have made the Lord Jesus the master of their lives.  He is making war against those who have made up their minds to follow Christ no matter what the cost.  He is not concerned with the Christian who comes to church on Sunday, then lives like the world the rest of the week.  His plan is to destroy the faith and testimony of those of us who would rather have Jesus than anything this world has to offer.

You see these are the saints that are worshiping God day and night in spirit and in truth.  They are the ones that know how to use the sword of the spirit which is the word of God.  He is after the prayer warriors, the intercessors, the faithful, those that take God at his word and will trust Him no matter what.  If you have accepted Christ and then went back to business as usual, continuing in your presumptuous sins believing that they are covered he is not concerned about you.  Though you should be very concerned.  The enemy knows the power of the prayers of the saints because God hears our petitions.  Our Father has said on more than one occasion, “call upon me and I will answer”.  Our foe knows the Bible better than we do.  Why do you think He is able to us it against us so effectively?  He will twist the words, distorts their meaning, bring confusion, he will make the truth seem like a lie, given the opportunity he will try to make you doubt God’s word altogether.  Do you know the Bible for yourself?  Is your spirit quickened when you hear an inaccuracy?  Do you know when something said or done is unscriptural?  In order for this to happen you have to  be immersed in God’s word.  The Holy Spirit will bring all things to your remembrance, but the word has to be in you first!

God has given us everything we need to fight in this battle.  He has told us to put on the whole armor of God.  The helmet of salvation, the breastplate of righteousness, our loins gird about with truth, our feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace, the sword of the spirit which is the word of God, and the shield of faith to quench the fiery darts of the wicked one.  Did you notice that nothing was provided for our backside?  That’s because He wants us to take on the battle, face the enemy knowing that we are already conquerors in Christ Jesus, He will not let you fail!  Personally, I believe that if you get one of the enemy’s darts in your backside you deserve it. I know I have gotten a couple myself! What did I learn from this?  God does not want you running away.  He wants us to face the enemy and FIGHT the good fight of faith!  God has given us power over all the power of the enemy and NOTHING shall by any means hurt us.  This is His promise!

He has promised to defend, help, provide, encourage, and embolden us to do what He wants done in our lives.  Are you being oppressed of the enemy?  Are doing your best to do what God would want, and it seems like everything is going against you?  Does it seem like at times that the whole world is against you?  If you have you ever had these feelings, you are right the entire world system is against you.  The Bible says that if you were of the world the it would love you because you would be one of its own.  But if you are a child of God you are hated of this world.  Jesus said, “If the world hates you, remember it hated me first”.  But remember what Jesus said, “In the world you will have trouble, but be of good cheer I have overcome the world”.

What Jesus is saying is that all power in heaven and earth is His.  He defeated the enemy over 2000 years ago. In Colossians 2:15 it says, “and having spoiled principalities and powers, He made a shew of them openly triumphing over them in it”.  Luke 10:19 says, “Behold I give unto you power to tread upon serpents and scorpions, and nothing shall by any means hurt you”.  James 2:19 says, “Thou believest that there is one God; the devils also believe and tremble”.  What kind of battle are  you facing today?  Is it sickness, marital problems, financial woes, spiritual battles, a family crisis, or lack of employment?  Stand on the promises of God to provide for you and your family.  He is more than able to do all that He promised.

What is the enemy trying to steal from you?  Whatever it is rise up clothed with the whole armor of God and fight against his attacks!   He can’t win unless you let him.  He has already been defeated.  Jesus has already done it!  Now it’s your time to refuse to let satan steal what God has blessed you with.  Jesus has given you the power to rebuke and bind the enemy in His mighty name!  Use it!  He has given you the power in His name to be victorious no matter what the situation may be.  We are commanded to be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.  On our own we don’t have what it takes to defeat the enemy, but God has provided for us everything we need.

And He is right there with you. He will never leave you nor forsake you.  He never said you wouldn’t be battered or bruised.  He never promised that you wouldn’t get knocked down, but He did say that He will uphold you with the right hand of His righteousness and help you!  Doubtful? Read Isaiah 41:10 and then get back to me.

I know that some of you have been in one battle or another for a long time.  I realize that you are tired, weary, and may be afraid of what is coming around the next corner.  You’re not looking forward to tomorrow.  Rest assured God knows, and He will not put more on you than you can bear.  The key is to trust God no matter what.

As Pastor Charley Stanley reminds us, “fight all your battles on your knees and you’ll win every time”.  For those of my brothers and sisters who have gone AWOL (absent without leave) you are playing into the enemy’s hands.  He is accusing you before God of being a coward, he is pointing out your lack of trust, and your faithlessness.  I believe that we have all been the subject of those accusations at one time or another.  But it’s not too late to repent of this sin, and come back to God.  Because believe it or not you have chosen a side.  If it’s the wrong one you will regret the decision that you have made to the detriment of your eternal soul.

Don’t be one of those that Jesus turns to and says, “depart from me I never knew you”.  There is still time…

Going Out Of Business

Philippians 4:6-8 – Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

This post is about a story I read many years ago.  It touched my heart at time when I really didn’t understand God.  I was unaware of this battle going on in the spiritual realm that involved me.  I had no idea that a war is raging right now against the people of God.  A war whose aim is to destroy our faith in God to get us to distrust Him and His promises.  But, it taught me that I have a lot to do with the outcome of my circumstances.  You see there are some things where God says, you make the choice, you should know what I expect.  Then there are the times that we must wait on His direction.

It’s during those times that we get weary from the battle, we become disillusioned, and sometimes we doubt the power of God to change the situation at all.  Brothers and sisters the enemy hates you with a rage you cannot possibly imagine.  Your worst enemy could never despise you as much as the evil one does.  For we are made in the image of God.  If he hates God he surely hates what is most precious to Him, His saints.

I have been blessed to be used of God to help so many of my family in Christ.  I pray for all of Christendom constantly.  I hope you do too.  These are truly evil days, and our adversary knows that his time is short.  That’s why his war against us has intensified, and most us are not ready for the fight.  Blame can be placed at the feet of many, but ultimately we are responsible for not being prepared for the battle.

We cannot stand on anyone else’s faith. You must stand on your own. Are you immersing yourself in the word of God?  Is  prayer a part of your daily routine?  Or do you only cry out to Him when things are going wrong?  He is to be lifted up, glorified, praised, worshiped, adored, magnified, every day of our lives.  In the good times remember from whom your blessings come from, and in the times of need cry out to Him.  As sister Aiken states in her post He is our strong tower.  The righteous run to it and are safe.  Here is the story I want to share with you.

The devil had decided that he was going out of business.  His reasons were his own, but he wanted to sell some of the tools that he used quite successfully against mankind.  All those interested in his wares were summoned and were inspecting the items on sale.   There were many to choose from lust, envy, greed, unforgiveness, malice, war, famine, disease, doubt, unbelief, and there were many, many others.  Each item varied in price according to its usefulness.  Those in attendance could tell that all of these items were well-worn.  But there was one that was separated from the others enclosed in a glass case set on a pedestal.  It’s price was the highest of all yet there was no name assigned to it.  It was obvious that this item had seen more use than all the others combined.

When the potential buyers inquired about the item the devil said, ah this tool I have used many times against the saints of God, and with great success I might add, when I could not get in with any of the others you see before you.  One of them asked, “What is it, and why is it so expensive?” He said this tool is discouragement.  With it I have been able to pry open and get in and make use of the other tools because of this one, and wreak havoc in a person’s life.  Because of this one simple tool I have been able to destroy homes, ruin families, cause suicides, divorces, why I have even gotten some to stopping praying, to begin to doubt God’s word, and to even walk away from Him altogether because of this one device.  It has proven to be quite effective over the years.

Brothers and sisters, God’s word is full of so many promises for His children.  But sometimes waiting on God is hard, and we pay more attention to our circumstances than we do Him.  When we don’t see the results WE want, when we want them, and sadly many of us become discouraged and begin to doubt God.

This is the one of the oldest tools in the enemy’s arsenal.  If he can get you to become discouraged using the other tools will be less arduous. We must learn to take God at His word, and hold on to it no matter what we feel.  I know some of you are going through some very hard times, but please do not be discouraged.  God knows exactly where you are and He knows what to do to bring you through whatever the problem is.

I urge you to Trust Him even when all hell seems to be breaking loose.  Never doubt for a moment that He is by your side, holding your hand, and will carry you if He has to.  He loves us more than we could imagine.

The word of God says in Deuteronomy 3:24, “O Lord God, thou has begun to shew thy servant thy greatness, and thy mighty hand: for what God is there in heaven or in earth, that can do according to thy works, and according to thy might?

The power of our God is unfathomable, He does what He pleases and no one opposes Him. What He has promised He is able to perform.

Trust in that power today.  Hold on to Him.  He will deliver you, rescue you, He will be whatever you need today. Trust Him, be still and know that He is God.

Enough Already!

I am weary of my crying: my throat is dried: mine eyes fail while I wait for my God. – Psalm 69:3

Does the woman in the photo seem somehow familiar to you? How many of us are in this place right now?  You are so tired of weeping.  You have cried out to God, and still there is no relief in sight.  The problems still persist, nothing seems to have changed.  This storm you have been in for such a long time will not pass.  You wonder if you will ever see the sun again.  Your throat is dry and raw from your wailing that no one seems to hear but you and God, and you may be wondering about Him.  Your eyes are swollen from crying while you wait on God.  You are holding on but it all seems to be getting worse while you wait on the Lord to keep His promise to deliver you.

We’ve either been there, are there, or know someone who is.  Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior.  You know that His promises are true, and that He is the same  yesterday, today, and forever.  He has not left you nor forsaken you.  But, you want this trial to be over.  You are tired of waking up in the morning to face another day of the same thing.  When will this all just go away?  Only God knows the answer to that question.  He promised that He would not put on us more than we can bear.  He hears your cry and sees your pain, but He knows something you fail to realize, you can bear it.  He knows that you can hold up under this pressure because of His promises to you.  It’s once you start to disbelieve what He said that the real problems start.  You see the enemy is looking for an inroad, that one statement, the one moment of weakness, when you begin to doubt God’s word.  When this happens you have made his day.

Once you let him in he will flood your mind with doubt about everything you ever knew or believed about God.  In the book of John chapter 10 verse 10 it says,  “the thief cometh not, but for to kill, and to steal, and to destroy”.  This passage clearly states that’s his only reason for coming into our lives.  He only means us harm.  There is no good in him. If he had the power he would kill each and every one of us.  After all we are made in the image of God.  He hates us more than you could possibly imagine.  If you give him access he will do anything to kill your faith.  This in turn will destroy your witness for Christ, thereby destroying your effectiveness in the kingdom of God.  He will then laugh at you another useless cowardly christian I have deceived into believing he/she has no power against me.

Once he has stolen your faith, what else do you have left?  How can you trust God when you have none, or worse yet you have abandoned it because it is not giving you the results YOU want.  The enemy laughs at you.  He knows better than anyone the power of Almighty God.  He knows what prayer and praise will do in the life of the believer.  He knows all too well.  But if he can get you to relinquish it, throw it away, or walk away altogether he has beaten you.  And another child of the Most High God is defeated for his or her lack of faith.  Their testimony made ineffectual because they refused to believe the promises of God.  I truly believe this saddens His heart. From a purely human perspective it’s understandable, you just wanted the pain to stop, you just couldn’t take anymore.  God will understand right?  Before I answer that question let me take you on a little side trip, what do you think would have happened if Jesus decided to quit, right up there on the cross, throw in the towel as it were.  Imagine if you will the crucifying of Jesus. They have plucked out his beard, spit on Him, slapped Him, cursed Him, whipped him, those huge nails piercing the muscles, nerves, and joints of his hands and feet.  His body wracked with unimaginable pain, a crown of thorns was put on his head, all the while the crowd jeered and mocked Him.  I would be willing to bet that the enemy was laughing at this too, while he influenced those in attendance to denigrate our Lord even more.  After all it seems that he is winning, Jesus is about to be killed.  Soon the Son of God would be no more.  Do you think there was a time that Jesus thought, “I just don’t know if I can take anymore of this”.  After all He was God, but He was just as human as you or I feeling every sting of the whip and the continual, painful throb of the nails driven into his body, the spear that had pierced his side.  Strips of flesh hanging from His body.  All the while being taunted by the crowd of onlookers.  Personally, I don’t think the thought ever crossed His mind.  He knew this had to be in order to save us.

He could have called down a legion of angels to help Him.  But he didn’t.  He died on that cross for you and me.  But, what if He decided I don’t want to do this, the agony and pain is too much, and came down from that cross.  He certainly had the power to do it.  He comes down looks at those who may still be mocking and cursing Him.  He then shakes His head and ascends into heaven his mission left undone not to be heard from again.  I think some would actually had been glad to see Him go.  However, the next question is where would we be right now?  Our only hope of salvation has just departed, what was needed to atone for the sins of mankind never got done.  You and I would be condemned to eternal damnation. That’s where we would find ourselves.  There would be no advocate between God and man, no intercessor, just God’s righteousness and the eternal punishment of sin which we all deserve.  Had this happened the enemy would have leaped for joy.  Because he would know that he would have access to us until the day we died, he could torment us all he wanted there would be no stopping him. The keys of death and hell would still be his.  And then we would have been banished to the abyss with him forever to suffer with him cut off from the love of God for all eternity.

God would count iniquities and not one of us would be left standing.  He would have no choice, He cannot tolerate sin.  And if He found just one, our fate would be sealed.  In order to redeem us from the curse of sin Jesus had to die.  It was the only sacrifice a righteous, Holy God would accept.  The death of one who was totally without sin, innocent, without spot or blemish and above reproach.  Only one person could fulfill this request.  Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  So in answer to the question would God  understand if I just threw in the towel?  After all I just couldn’t take anymore.  The pain was just too much to bear.  I believe His thoughts would turn to how His only son suffered and died for sins He never committed.  He endured all of that for you and me, so that one day we would not only live with Him in heaven, but so that also in the day of trouble we would be able to stand knowing that He not only gave all for us, but to remind us that the evil one is defeated, that all power in heaven and in the earth is given unto Him. That same power that raised Him from the dead now operates in us. He is King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

I am not attempting to mitigate the pain anyone is going through.  I know that it is real, but stop and think about what Jesus did for us.  Compared to what he went through, all of our trials are very light and temporary. The Bible even talks about our light afflictions. They may seem heavy to us, but the word of God calls them light.  Can you really compare the loss of a job, house, money, position or even a loved one to what Jesus did?  In all honesty the answer has to be no.

Jesus knew that we would have trouble on this earth.  That’s why He left us His word and the Holy Spirit.  It’s why He said be of good cheer I have overcome the world.  Brothers and sisters God knows exactly where you are.  He knows about every one that has hurt you, He saw how you were mistreated, the ones that did all they could to make you look bad, He saw that too.  Oh, and the threat to your livelihood, your marriage, your family…  He knew about that too long before your were formed in the womb.

He knows about it and he has already solved the problem.  It’s not easy to wait on God.  Trusting Him is hard.  I know this from personal experience.  But it is worth it!  It is also commanded of us.  Without faith it is impossible to please Him.  Those that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength.  You will see God’s power demonstrated in your life as you never have. And so will others in your life!  In Isaiah 12:2 the word says, “Behold, God is my salvation;  I will trust, and not be afraid:  for the Lord JEHOVAH is my strength and my song;  He also is become my salvation”.

Psalm 18:30 says, ” As for God, His way is perfect: the word of the Lord is tried: he is a buckler to all those that trust in Him”.  God knows exactly what to do to see you through to the end.  Hold on to His hand.  He is in your future right now!  Demonstrate a sense of gratitude.  Even when it seems your whole world is falling apart.  Thank Him in spite of your circumstances.  Don’t let what you’re going through determine the outcome of your situation.

Your weeping won’t last forever.  God knows those that oppress you and sees that their day is coming. Refuse to fear, refuse to worry.  Worry is caused by unbelief.  The Reformer Martin Luther once said this about worrying, “Why are we so vexed by thoughts, seeing that the future is not in our power for one moment?  Let us, then, be satisfied with the present and commit ourselves to the hand of God, who alone knows an controls the past and the future”.

Judge God by His promises.  He has never lied to anyone, and He is not going to start now.  Trust Him no matter what.

The End Of All Things…

“For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be earthquakes in divers places, and there shall be famines and troubles: these are the beginning of sorrows” – Mark 13:8

Sound familiar?

Are we in the last days? I think so. Doesn’t the world seem darker and more sinister than it used to be? Doesn’t it seem like  that evil abounds everywhere? No matter in what direction we turn there is bad news. Things are deteriorating at an alarming pace. The unrepentant, unabashed sins of men are getting worse, and the earth is groaning. The earthquakes, tsunamis, sand storms, droughts, torrential rains, floods, unrest all over the world, economic collapse on a global scale. For the first time in 31 years Japan is running a trade deficit. The United States is not the economic power she used to be. She is no longer respected in the world as she once was.  There are riots and political upheavals all over the world. God is trying to get our attention. He is pleading with us to repent and turn back to Him before it’s too late.

I believe the end of all things is at hand. If you search the word of God I believe that you will come to the same conclusion. God will not allow this world to continue in its wicked ways, and sit back and do nothing. He may be silent but he is never still.  He is still giving us an opportunity to turn from our wicked ways and return to Him.  His children cry out to Him day and night, “Come quickly Lord Jesus”, and take your bride away. The souls of your children long to be with you. We have grown tired of this place. There is no justice here evil men seem to rule with impunity. They do as they please and it seems that no one can stop them.   They speak blasphemies against your Holy name and laugh because they seem to be so secure in their power, money, position, social status, religious beliefs, etc.  They say what need to do we have of God? But you O God laugh at their plans and schemes because you know that their day is coming.  The world says to God Almighty the maker of heaven and earth that we know what is best for our lives let us alone!   We don’t need you interfering with our plans.  We want to do what pleases us.  We create our own destiny, I am master of my universe. Your laws and commandments are too strict, too binding,  they are archaic and outdated they’re not for today. The Bible was written over 2000 years ago.  Things have changed how could it possibly be relevant in this day and age?

We are far too sophisticated and knowledgeable to believe in the devil, hell, and eternal punishment for refusing to accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior and other such nonsense. These things are designed to frighten small children.  Man is basically good. Besides, Oprah and many others have told us, “Jesus can’t be the only way”. There have to be other ways to god. If not, why do we have all of these different religious belief systems?  How can Jesus possibly be the only way?  As a matter of fact as far as some of us are concerned it’s possible that God doesn’t exist anyway. Besides why would a so-called loving God allow murders, rapes, robberies, children to be mistreated, poverty, sickness and disease?  If you really cared about the shape the world is in you would do something. What kind of God are you to allow these things to continue?  The wars, famines, weather disasters, hunger, incurable diseases, cancer, senseless death, how can you allow such human suffering to go on?

We want a god that doesn’t care if you are homosexual, lesbian, pagan, a witch, and doesn’t mind if you choose to marry another of the same-sex as long as you love one another.  We desire a god that tells us it doesn’t care which road we choose to get to him every road is the right one.  As a matter of fact you don’t even have to believe that their is a god!  What matters is the life you lead while you are here. All that matters is that you are a good person and you are good to people, and you try your best to kind, considerate and be helpful to others. That’s what is right and good in our eyes. Talk about strong delusions!  The God of all things has little place in this society anymore. The world believes that it is capable of shaping its own future. The belief is that the power within us!  As a matter a fact the world says we really don’t need you. It seems all you want to do is tie us down, keep us from enjoying our lives the way we wish with your commandments, rules, and ways to live that run contrary to our modern lifestyles. At this point in time we see no need to worship or praise you, nor thank you for anything. With all that is going wrong what would we be thanking you for? For now, we see no need for your help, guidance, salvation, mercy, or whatever else you have to offer. The good times will be back again soon. The economy and the bad times won’t last forever.

We will make our plans and live our lives because we know there will always be tomorrow.  It may be bad now, but the promise of a brighter day is just around the corner! How blind, arrogant and foolish these people are.  But the word of God speaks of this time doesn’t it? In 2 Timothy 3:1-8 it says, “This know that in the last days perilous times shall come.  For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of things that are good, traitors, heady, high-minded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

Notice where it says, “ever learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth”. We have more knowledge than at any other time in human history. We have mapped the human genome, technology that has literally changed our lives, there have been great advances in science, medicine, communication, etc. As a race of people we have learned much.  But what has all this learning gotten us? We believe that we can take God out of our schools, our government, our very lives, and expect that we and our children will somehow be better for it. The shootings, rapes, beatings of students by their peers, suicides, bullying, and teachers having inappropriate contact with their charges would seem to say otherwise. You cannot remove the word of God and expect anything good to happen. In fact you should expect the exact opposite. You have opened the door for the enemy to have his way.  Children today are more disobedient to authority than ever before. Parents are afraid to discipline them for fear of going to jail or the child not liking them. There have been instances of children committing patricide because the child didn’t like something the parent did.  Children killing their own parents, 30 years ago the very thought was unthinkable, we are truly in the last days.  God said spare the rod and spoil the child for a reason.  He knows that “foolishness is bound up in the heart of a child, but the rod of correction drives it far from him”. – Proverbs 22:15.

If you refuse to teach discipline to your child as God teaches I promise you someone else who doesn’t  love him/her will teach it to them, and they may not like the lessons.  We need to understand that God knows us!  We are born with a sinful nature but with God’s help we can fight and overcome it.  We will struggle with it until we leave this earth to live with Christ in our renewed bodies. Only then will sin have no more attempt to reign over us. That fight will be over. Until then we must die to sin each and every day. Oh, come quickly Lord Jesus.

We take the Ten commandments out of our courthouses and we expect justice from those who sit in judgment over us? Really? Is there any wonder why we get handed down the laws that we do? Is it really a surprise that we have more judges being charged with corruption or abuse of their authority when they believe that no one sits in judgment of them?  Some of them believe that they can do what they want because basically they are accountable to almost no one.  They can be cruel and harsh in their dealings with you.  Some have utter disdain for the poor or those with no money, power or influence.  How many times have you heard a judge say, “This is my courtroom”. In essence you are being told this is my sandbox and you will play by my rules.  I can understand that for good order this respect for authority must be established.  After all he/she has the force of law and the state to back them up. Who are you going to complain to?  Our tax dollars pay for everything including the judge’s salary, and despite that some seem to have nothing but contempt.  But I think that they forget that God put them in the position that they are in and He demands that their judgments are administered with impartiality, fairness, compassion, adherence to the law, respect to all and righteousness. Because if you do otherwise His children will cry out to Him for justice and He will answer their pleas. Then O judge you will answer to God Almighty. When you disregard the laws of Almighty God and make man’s law superior you should expect nothing less than chaos.  God is ruler of all. He will not be ignored, nor will he allow His laws to be violated without consequence.

I can give many biblical references in order to bolster my belief that we are in the end of days. Some say that things will get better. I’m sorry no they won’t.  Not until Jesus returns.  Things are going to get much worse.  This too is prophesied in the Bible. But fear not saints God has promised to take care of us no matter what!  Rejoice!  This economy matters not to Him, neither do the plans, schemes or threatening of men. In the days ahead he will provide safety for you and your family.  The days ahead may cause you to fear, but no matter what trust God.  He will see to it that you have all that you need.  He is not a man that He would lie.  Martin Luther once said that for the Christian life is too long, and we want to go home and be with our Lord.  The sinner says that life is too short I have so much more that I want to do.

For those that believe that they can ignore God and do as they please the word of God has something to say to you. And for those of us who love Him and look forward with great anticipation to His coming, He has something to say to us as well. “The hand of our God is upon all them for good that seek him: but His power and wrath is against all them that forsake Him”.  – Ezra 8:22.  Like it or not the days are coming to a close.  God is still speaking.  As it says in 2 Peter 3:9, “He is long-suffering toward us, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance”.

Look around you. Take a good long look at all that is going on in the world. My friend the end is closer than you think.  There is still time to come and accept the Lord Jesus Christ and be saved. Ignore Him at your own peril. But no one will ever be able to say on the day of judgment and say no one told me about this Jesus. I believe that you will be shown every time the opportunity to accept Christ presented itself, and you rejected it. When Jesus stood at the door and knocked you looked out the peephole and said we’re not interested.

There is still time.

The Trying Of Our Faith

Matt 14:26-33: “And when the disciples saw Him (Jesus) walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, “It is a ghost!” And they cried out for fear. But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, “Be of good cheer! It is I; do not be afraid.” And Peter answered Him and said, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.” So He said, “Come.” And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus. But when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!” And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?” And when they got into the boat, the wind ceased. Then those who were in the boat came and worshiped Him, saying, “Truly You are the Son of God.”

Have you ever wondered why Jesus was out walking on the water on such a bad night?  I have.  I believe that Jesus didn’t do anything that did not serve a divine purpose or a lesson to be learned.  Peter was about to have his faith tested and like some of us he would fall short.  In the above passage it says that the wind was boisterous.  Imagine if you will a dark windy night, the waves crashing against the boat, the boat pitching up and down, to and fro, I would think that it was a feat just trying to stay seated.  I often wondered, could they even see the shore?  The next question I have is why were they out on a night like this anyway.  Those questions are not answered unfortunately.

First of  all everybody thought it was some sort of apparition and were fearful.  But immediately Jesus said, “Be of good cheer! It’s me; don’t be frightened.  I am sure that hearing the Master’s voice soothed the rattled nerves of those in the boat.  They knew everything was going to be all right.  Peter obviously felt this way.  He wanted to walk on the water and be with Jesus.  When He said come, Peter got out of the boat and started walking toward Jesus. This must have been an amazing experience.  He was doing something that is humanly impossible.  But nevertheless here he is walking on the water in the midst of a storm.  I can only imagine the thrill and excitement he must have felt. All the while keeping his eyes on Jesus.

But something happened.  Peter started noticing the wind and how it was whipping up the waves and blowing fiercely.  All of the sudden the thrill is gone.  He takes his focus off of Jesus and puts it on the situation around him and begins to sink.  He cries out to the Lord to save him.   Immediately Jesus stretched out His hand to keep Peter from sinking below the waves. Then Jesus said to him, O you of little faith, why did you doubt?”.  I think it’s safe to say that we all have had a Peter moment.  Maybe more than one.  I know I have.

It’s so easy to doubt what we can not see, touch, taste, hear, or smell.  I think it would be safe to say that if Jesus had appeared on a bright sunny day, where the wind and sea were calm and visibility was unlimited.  I think everybody would have wanted to walk on the water then!  But only Peter asked the Lord to let Him come out on the water.  When there is no perceivable danger or when you can see what’s ahead of you it doesn’t take a lot of faith.

It’s in the valley and in the midst of the storm where your faith or lack thereof gets tested.  God demands faith from his children.  Without it we cannot please Him.  Trusting the Lord is easy when there is money enough in the bank to pay the bills.  Faith is pretty hard to shake when everything is moving along as it should.  But life isn’t like that is it?  The Bible says that our lives on this earth are short and full of trouble.  I sure we can all attest to that.  And in these last days the lives of Christians are being attacked as never before.  We are being assailed from every side.  But this is to be expected.  We are not of this world, if we were, the world would love its own.

Trusting God when all hell seems to be breaking loose around you is hard.  It’s meant to be.  It’s especially during this time that God wants to show you His power to do above all you could ask or think.  When God brings you through a seemingly hopeless situation you will never forget it.  And you can’t help telling somebody, anybody, about what He has done.  I think most of the lessons we learned that had an impact on our lives were painful ones.    I remember when I was learning to fly.  On this particular training day I was with my instructor and we had been flying for several hours.  I was physically and mentally exhausted.  We were coming in for a landing and I committed a terrible sin.  I did not keep an eye on my airspeed.  When flying at slow speed such as in the landing configuration, you always watch your speed.  But today I just wanted the flight to be over and the plane back in the hangar.  I was thinking about getting home.  I didn’t notice that I was going too slow on my final approach.  I wasn’t paying attention to my ever decreasing airspeed.  But neither was my instructor.

I was about 10-15 feet above the runway when the airplane stopped flying, and just fell onto the runway.  I reacted too late and so did my instructor.  The plane smacked the ground hard.  Really hard.  I hurt nothing but my pride.  We weren’t too sure about the airplane.  We taxied back to the flight school where the mechanic inspected the plane and turns out it was OK too. That was the day I almost stopped flying.  When I talked to my instructor about discontinuing my attempt to become a pilot, he told me to be glad that it happened at my home airport and that he was with me.  He told me to keep flying.  Let this be a lesson to you.  He also said that this is something that you will never let happen again.  He was right.  It never happened again.

After that I watched my airspeed like a hawk.  I was determined that any plane I flew from that point on would never fall out of the sky like that again.  When I became a flight instructor I drilled the same lesson into my students always watch your airspeed.  What am I saying? First, the lesson we learn best are the ones that cause us trouble, pain, apprehension, fear, etc.  Like a pilot taking his eyes of such an important indicator as his airspeed, taking your eyes off God, and onto your circumstances is equally as foolish.  Even more so.

But how do you keep your eyes on God when there is so much going on in our lives?  It takes discipline.  You must make an effort to read the word everyday.  You don’t need to read a whole chapter, start slow, read a verse or two.  I suggest the book of Psalms.  You will be surprised how much you will want to read and learn.  Spend time alone with God.  You can find the time if you really want to.  And in these last days it is vital that we spend time with our Heavenly Father.  More than any other time in human history, we need His guidance, protection, mercy, forgiveness and love.

While none of us likes pain or heartache sometimes it’s the only way God can get through to us.  He has a divine plan that you are a part of.  In your time of hardship and pain always remember this.  You may want to know, why me?  Why did this have to happen to me?  Only God has the answer to that question.  But I do know this, He will not put on you more than you can bear.  Keep your eyes on Him not your circumstances.

By the way, for those of you that want to get mad at God, or blame Him because of something you’re going through, it’s OK. He’s seen and heard it all before.   It won’t change a thing.  As a matter of fact He still loves you and wants to care for you.  That will never change.  He remembers that we are but dust.  Psalm 103:14.  He knows that our understanding is extremely limited.  That’s why it’s imperative that we trust The God of the Universe, The Creator of All Things, The Great I Am, The King of Kings, and Lord of Lords, because He already knows your future.  He has promised to take care of us.  He is not a man that he would lie.

Fear Thou Not…

Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. – Isaiah 41:10

The dictionary describes fear as a distressing emotion aroused by impending danger, evil, pain, etc., whether the threat is real or imagined; the feeling or condition of being afraid. God has commanded us to not be fearful. And yet this powerful emotion is with us all day every day. After all he created this emotion. We tend to be in fear of many things. Today some of us fear losing our homes or jobs, we are afraid that we may not be good enough, or that someone may not like us. Some of us are even afraid of God. We fear His wrath upon us, we fear that he is angry with us, or that if don’t do this or that He is going to punish you in some way.

It is said that babies have only two innate fears. The fear of the dark and the fear of falling. Everything else is learned. Some fear is good. It can keep us from danger or harm. But the kind of fear God is referring to is the fear of the unknown. Of not knowing what the future holds. This causes worry and worry is caused by unbelief.  We either have trouble believing or flat out just don’t believe God can or will do anything. We look at the circumstances around us and try to assess what can we do to rectify the situation. How can we with are limited intellect solve this problem? No matter how much education or knowledge you possess your intellect is still limited. There are some questions none of us can answer. There are some things that only God can fix. Some situations are within our power to correct. In those cases God expects us to do just that. But still He gave you the intellect to be able to fix what is wrong. He should be thanked and praised for that as well.

But what about the possibility of losing your home due to no fault of your own? You may have gotten a notice that your company is downsizing and your job is on the line. You may have gotten a bad report from the doctor.  Our government instills fear in us warning us of possible terrorist attacks, advertisers make us question whether or not our retirement is enough, a food or drug that was good for you last year may have harmed you in some way today. We fear getting older, getting sick, not having enough money, the list goes on and on. Don’t get me wrong these are legitimate concerns. God in His infinite wisdom knew that there would be things that would cause us to be fearful. That’s why He made provision for it. He is our future right now. He has been from the beginning.

What does God say about fear and worry? His word has plenty to say about it. In Isaiah 41:10 it says, “Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed for I am thy God”.  In 2 Timothy 1:7 It states that He has not given us a spirit of fear. Hebrews 13:6, “So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me”. And these are only a few verses. The point of this is that God is saying I know all about these things that trouble you, but take heart I will take care of you.

The word of God admonishes us not to fear or worry about anything. Philippians 4:6 says Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. In 1 Peter 5:7 the word of God tells us to cast all your care upon Him for he careth for you.

From the foundation of the world He knew about every trial you would face nothing catches God off guard. He is in control of everything. You may be in the midst of a trial that is draining the life out of you. The anguish and the pain are at times unbearable. You would think that you have no more tears left, but you continue to weep over whatever this situation might be. Brothers and sisters this is the time to praise God. I know you may not feel like it. You may be asking the question are you saying that I should give Him praise and thanks for what I am going through? Yes, a thousand times yes! I know what it is like to be in such anguish that it becomes a physical pain. To be in such turmoil you don’t know which way to turn. Weeping bitterly because there was not a thing I could do about what I was going through. Only God could help me. There was no help in any man or woman.

Sometimes all I could do was whisper the name of Jesus between sobs. He promised He would help me and I held on to that. Though I saw no relief in sight at that time I knew He was right there with me. His angels bearing me up in their hands. There were days where I just knew I could not take anymore. It hurt too bad and the pain kept coming and coming. There were many days I’m sure that God had to carry me through the valley I was in because I just didn’t have the strength to continue to walk beside Him. But I refused not to trust Him. I refused to not believe His promises. I never let my faith waiver.

The enemy tried to make me believe that there was no help for me. God had allowed this attack on me and the enemy was determined to drive me to my knees in defeat. Well he succeeded in literally driving to my knees I will admit that. But while I was down there I praised God. I worshiped Him, thanked Him, gave Him praise and glory in spite of all I was going through. My friends if you want to infuriate the enemy this is the way to do it. Give God glory no matter how bad it seems. Then watch God turn everything around. I thank God for what I went through because it drew me closer to Him. He showed me things about myself that needed His touch. He revealed things about Himself that I never knew. The Bible says more to me now than it ever did. For this I give Him praise and honor and glory.

No matter what your situation is today don’t give in to the tricks and lies of the devil. Take everything to God in prayer and thank Him for the resolution to the problem even though you can’t see it right now. The enemy comes to kill, steal and to destroy. If he can do this to your faith and trust in God and His word you will have conceded the victory to Him. Even if you have done it, repent right now. Ask God for forgiveness and for the strength to continue to fight until He makes manifest your victory.

The enemy is defeated. He was vanquished over 2000 years ago. How do I know? The word of God says so, Colossians 2:15 says, “And having spoiled principalities and powers (Jesus), he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it”. This means that all power now belongs to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!  Death has no victory over us, the power of the devil to ensnare us was destroyed. Not only that, he made a show of them openly. This means that every devil and heavenly host was a witness to the complete, undeniable victory Jesus achieved. Had He not done it in the open for all to see His victory could be called into question. It could always be said how can we know that you won? No one saw it. But Jesus made sure that in the spiritual realm every principality and power knew that the devil was defeated. The only power he has is what we give him.

So you see Jesus has already won the battle. There is no need to fight the devil again. Remind him that Jesus defeated you long ago and in His name I command you to go. As a child of God you have power of him. He has none over you. Fight the good fight of faith. Believe God’s word. Don’t let go of it.

Heavenly Father,

I thank you for the victories you are bringing into the lives of my brothers and sisters today. Remind them that they are children of the Most High God and greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world. Remind them that in  times of heartache, struggle and all manner of difficulties you are with them. Thank you for comforting them in their time of need. I ask this in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

God Does Care… His Word Says So

Cast all your care upon Him Because He cares for you. – 1 Peter 5:7

Too often today the question is asked does God care? The answer is yes He does. Very much. Usually the next question is then why does He allow the things to happen in the world? Why does He allow pain, sickness, disease, heartache, and all sorts of other problems. The answer is simple, sin.

I know, I know you’ve probably heard it all before. But it’s the truth. When Adam and Eve chose to disobey God He had no choice but to put them out of the paradise He created for them. I’m sure He did this reluctantly because He knew what lie ahead not only for them, but for us as well. Let’s be clear satan did tempt Eve. But she had a choice. She chose to listen to him and ignore God’s admonition against eating the fruit of that particular tree. Nothing else was withheld from them. Satan convinced Eve that God was holding out on her. After all the fruit was beautiful, it looked good enough to eat and why shouldn’t she be like God? Eve could not see that God was protecting her as any good parent does. Satan was successful in getting her to believe his lies. So sin was introduced into the world and things would never be as they should have been. The way God meant for it to be.

I guess the next question is why did God allow Eve to do this? He could have stopped her. Yes, He could have. But He did not create mindless robots that would love and obey Him because they were made to. Adam and Eve had wills and intellect of their own. Remember God created them as adults not small children. So it stands to reason that He blessed them with the mental faculties of adults. They understood the difference between right and wrong. Between obedience and disobedience. I believe that they were much more intelligent than any man or woman God ever created. With that intelligence came the power to choose. They could choose to obey or not. But because they made the wrong decision sin entered into the world and we have been suffering for it ever since.

But God never ceased caring for His children. Even though they deliberately disobeyed His commandment. Today we have all kinds of trouble in the world. The Bible speaks of this. And it’s only going to get worse. Much worse. Our days on this earth are short and full of trouble. Especially if you have made a decision to live righteously and the Lord Jesus Christ is your savior. We can expect all manner of persecution from the world, the devil, our friends and family, strangers, even our own flesh.

But why is that? Jesus said it best when He explained that because you are not of this world, therefore the world hates you. You are a symbol of what Christ suffered and died for. Your life now belongs to Him. You have been bought with a price. You are no longer your own. But He did not leave you defenseless. He promised to never leave nor forsake you. Even in the most trying times of your life He is right there by your side. The Holy Spirit is there to instruct and guide you into all truth.

You may be thinking this all well and good Michael, but what I am going through is painful. My marriage is mess, I’ve lost my job, I’m going to lose my home, my finances are a wreck, I don’t see God doing much for me. Oh but He is. From the foundation of the world God loved you. That means that long before the earth was created He knew you. He knows everything about you. Nothing that is happening or has happened to you is a surprise to God. He is in your past, present and future all at the same time. Therefore the solution to your situation was resolved a long time ago.

Therefore He has already made a way for you to not only bear this temporary trial, but to be victorious. You are more than a conqueror in Christ Jesus. Unfortunately, the enemy wants you to believe otherwise. This all boils down to your faith. The faith to believe that the God of the Bible cares about all that concerns you. He wants you to trust Him will all your heart, soul and mind. Look to no one else but Him for your help. This is not easy for us humans. We don’t particularly like being in pain or uncomfortable. We want it to end quickly. We desire instant gratification. So we look to others that may be able to help us. Let me tell you. If you don’t go through this the way He wants you to, you will only go through it again and again until you have learned the lesson he is trying to teach you. He wants you to know Him better, to understand that He wants to take care of you. Why would He tells us this in His word if it wasn’t true?

If you are one of His children He is not trying to hurt or destroy you. He is showing you His power and might in all things. He wants you to call on Him and no one else. He has promised to take care of you. He said to cast your cares upon me for I care for you. The scriptures also says that we are to be anxious for nothing, but to make our requests be made know unto God with thanksgiving.

My brothers and sisters I know that it is not easy to praise God and thank Him for His goodness when everything seems to be falling apart around you. But this is exactly the time when you should. Don’t concentrate on the problem. Put your eyes on God and His promises to you. He is walking with you in this valley. Hold on to His mighty hand. Don’t look for the proverbial light at the end of the tunnel. Look at Him instead. It is there that you will find your peace and comfort in the midst of the storm you are in.

He has never lied to anyone and He never will. Whatever problem you are experiencing today call out to Him. If all you can do is whisper His name do it. In the midst of your anguish and pain cry out to Him for help and guidance. I promise you He will help you. His word says so.

The enemy will try to make you believe that there is no hope for you. That God has abandoned you and there is no help coming. He will try with all his might to make you distrust God’s word.  This is an attack and lies from the pit of hell. The Bible calls the devil a liar from the beginning. No matter what you feel trust God. No matter what the doctor says or the boss, or how hopeless the situation seems TRUST GOD. He will not let you down. We get into trouble when we concentrate on the situation instead of God. When we look to impotent mortal men for help we are in essence telling Him I can’t trust you. God commands us to trust Him. To do otherwise is sin.

But you must do your part. Make sure that you are reading His word daily. It doesn’t have to be several chapters read a verse or two. Soon you will want to read and learn more about the things of God. Pray daily. It doesn’t have to be complicated or last for hours. Martin Luther once said that the simple prayers are the best prayers.

You are not alone. God’s angels are fighting in the heavenly places for you right now. The battle has already been won. The fight now is for your faith. Without it you can’t please Him. Will you trust God? Will you take Him at His word? Will you hold on to Him no matter what the circumstances? You can and He will help you God is not a man that He would lie. His word will not come back to Him void. It will do what He has set it out to perform.

I will pray for all who ask for it and for all who visit this site. I will provide my email address if you want to write to me in private.

The primary goal of this blog is to help you understand that you can and must trust God in all things. There is no help in man. We are commanded to trust Him only. To do otherwise is sin.

Let me say this, no one is going to condemn you because you may be weak in your faith or you may be in a situation where you are not sure if God is trustworthy. That is perfectly OK and God understands. It is not easy to trust Him. It’s hard to trust what we cannot interpret through our five senses.  That’s what faith is all about. Trusting God despite the circumstances, despite your feelings, and despite what everyone else may be telling you.

His ways are not our ways and our thoughts are not His thoughts – Isaiah 55:8-9. But I can tell you from experience He can be trusted with every area of your life. The difficulties you go through will not destroy you. Only you can allow them to do that.

Don’t let the enemy win. Refuse to give in to his lies and deceptions. Trust God with all your heart and lean not unto your own understanding – Proverbs 3:5-6.
